This Privacy Policy explains how Parkinsad ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the WhatToMake iOS application ("the App"). By using the App you agree to the practices described here.
Account information. When you sign in with Apple, we receive a user identifier and, if you choose to share it, your email address. Apple may provide a private relay address — we store whichever email address Apple provides.
Meal preferences. Dietary goals (e.g. vegetarian, high-protein), maximum cooking time, and preferred cooking methods that you set in the app are stored in our database and used to personalise AI-generated meal plans.
Meal ratings. When you complete cooking a meal and submit a rating, we store your rating alongside the meal title and meal type in our database. This data is aggregated anonymously to show community statistics (e.g. "23 people cooked this · avg 4.6 ★") to all users.
Cooking history. A record of meals you have cooked and rated is stored locally on your device only (in iOS UserDefaults). This data is not uploaded to our servers unless you submit a rating, at which point only the rating itself is synced as described above.
Subscription information. We use RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions. RevenueCat may collect your Apple ID transaction data, device identifiers, and subscription status. We do not directly process payment card information — all payments are handled by Apple.
Usage data. We do not run our own analytics. Aggregate crash data and performance metrics may be collected by Apple via their standard iOS frameworks, subject to your device's privacy settings.
We do not use your information to serve targeted advertising or build advertising profiles.
Your account data and meal ratings are stored in Supabase, a cloud database platform with servers in the European Union (EU West region) and the United States. Supabase complies with GDPR and employs industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit.
We retain your account data and ratings for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account (see Section 6), all your data is permanently deleted within 30 days.
Cooking history stored locally on your device is never automatically transmitted to our servers and is removed when you delete the app.
The App integrates with the following third-party services. Each is governed by its own privacy policy.
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at privacy@parkinsad.com and we will delete it promptly.
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@parkinsad.com. We will respond within 30 days. UK and EU users also have the right to lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority (e.g. the ICO in the UK).
You can also delete your cooking history at any time by deleting the App from your device.
Your data may be processed in the United States and the European Union. Where data is transferred outside the EEA or UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place (such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent) in accordance with applicable data protection law.
We use industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption for all data in transit, encrypted storage at rest, and Row Level Security (RLS) policies that ensure users can only access their own data. Subscription status is verified server-side before any personalised content is delivered.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. For material changes, we will provide notice within the App.
